AI could shave up to eight hours from air cargo collection process

Handler CHI says artificial intelligence could save around eight hours per air cargo shipment by enabling truck dispatch and collection planning before the traditional release‑order trigger.

Analysis of import cargo at Frankfurt showed that information is available well before the release order, and AI could let operators anticipate aircraft arrival, unloading and breakdown stages to begin planning up to ten hours earlier, while a single ULD generates more than 100 information flows involving airlines, handlers, forwarders, airports and others.
