A Congressional Research Service report says at least 81 U.S. military aircraft and drones have been lost since Operation Epic Fury began on Feb. 28, with replacement costs estimated between $1.9 billion and $3.3 billion.

The report lists 45 MQ‑9 Reapers, 3 MQ‑1 drones and 1 MQ‑4C Triton among the unmanned losses, as well as twelve F‑15E Strike Eagles (including three destroyed over Kuwait, one over Iran and eight lightly damaged in Jordan), one F‑35A Lightning II, one E‑3 Sentry, seven KC‑135 Stratotankers (one crashed in Iraq, another emergency‑landed, five damaged on the ground), and two MC‑130J aircraft destroyed during an April rescue operation.
