Police search nature reserve near Munich Airport for possible puma

Police began a search of a nature reserve close to Munich Airport after a hunter reported capturing a puma on his night‑vision wildlife camera on Tuesday evening.

The operation deployed thermal‑imaging drones, sniffer dogs and a helicopter, received 30 tips overnight, and found no evidence of the animal on Wednesday evening; district hunting chief Thomas Schreder said he was fairly certain the animal was not a native wildcat such as a lynx.
