ACI World releases 2025 cargo airport rankings showing 131 million tonnes handled

Airports Council International World published its final 2025 airport traffic rankings on 15 July 2026, reporting that global air cargo volumes reached 131 million metric tonnes in 2025, up 3.3% from 2024 and 7.4% above 2019 levels.

The rankings show the world’s 20 busiest cargo airports moved 53.1 million metric tonnes, about 41% of total air cargo, while the five busiest airports together handled more than 19.5 million tonnes, roughly 15% of the global total; Miami International Airport processed 3,128,165 tonnes and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport processed 3,396,437 tonnes, each up more than 13% from the previous year.
