Punta Gorda Airport conducts full‑scale mass‑casualty drill with Charlotte County Fire &

Charlotte County Fire & EMS and Punta Gorda Airport carried out a full‑scale mass‑casualty aircraft drill on Tuesday.

The FAA‑required exercise tested crews’ response to a major airport emergency, with participants practicing incident command, patient triage, treatment, transportation and establishing a water supply; Charlotte Technical College students and Community Emergency Response Team volunteers acted as simulated victims, while airport staff helped plan the drill and served as evaluators.
