Salt Lake City Intl to raise GA hangar rents, shifting traffic to reliever airport

Salt Lake City International Airport will raise hangar rents for general aviation tenants next year, with some pilots facing increases of more than 150%, affecting 58 shade- and T-hangar tenants.

Airport officials say the hikes are meant to bring rates closer to market levels as growing commercial traffic and airspace constraints push GA activity toward other airports, and South Valley Regional Airport, the designated reliever, saw operations rise nearly 19% from 2023 to 2025, handling over 125,000 operations and is expected to grow another 5% this year.
