The European Union and Canada have agreed to jointly purchase 50 De Havilland Canadair 515 firefighting aircraft, with the fleet expected to be ready for deployment in Canada and Europe from 2030.

De Havilland Canada will produce 22 of the aircraft for European customers, including Croatia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and France, while contracts have been signed with the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Ontario and Alberta.
