Canada and Côte d’Ivoire expand weekly passenger and cargo flights under new agreement

Transport Canada announced a bilateral agreement that raises the number of passenger‑combination flights between Canada and Côte d’Ivoire to 14 each week for each country, and permits up to 10 all‑cargo flights per week for both nations.

The deal also provides fifth‑freedom cargo rights for all‑cargo flights at points in Africa, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States, while bilateral trade was valued at $1.2 billion in 2025 after a 32 % increase over the previous year.

Why it matters

Transport Canada’s Minister of Transport said the agreement will grow both economies and create new opportunities.
