American Airlines announced a 40,000‑square‑foot Admirals Club lounge to be built in the atrium mezzanine of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, while its existing Admirals Club lounges in Concourses B and C/D will stay open and the provision near Gate A1 will continue operating.

Construction is said to begin later this year according to one source, while another states it will start before the end of 2026, and the lounge is targeted to open in early 2028; Charlotte handled 53.6 million passengers in 2025 and American operates more than 650 departures on peak days at the airport.
