Attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport on Oct. 6‑7, 2026 left three people dead and 36 injured, according to Saudi authorities and the Houthi group.

Casualties

Two women were killed at Abha International Airport and a Sudanese resident was killed at King Khalid International Airport. The attacks injured a total of 36 people, with 28 injured at Abha and eight injured at King Khalid.

Perpetrators and weapons

Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said the group used drones against King Khalid and ballistic missiles and drones against Abha. The Saudi‑led coalition said it intercepted the ballistic missile and destroyed the launch platform used in the Riyadh attack.

Response and damage

The General Authority of Civil Aviation said injuries ranged from minor to serious and all injured were taken to hospitals. Both airports sustained damage and GACA is working with security agencies to assess the damage and protect passengers and employees.

Gen. Turki al‑Maliki said Saudi forces destroyed the ballistic missile launcher used in the Riyadh attack, and the coalition reported striking 82 legitimate military targets in response.

Earlier attacks on King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport injured three people and caused property damage. Aden International Airport was also attacked on Oct.
