Houthis attack Aden International Airport with missiles and drones

Ballistic missiles and explosive‑laden drones struck near Aden International Airport.
Aden airport strike
Yemen’s Iran‑aligned Houthis launched ballistic missiles and explosive‑laden drones at Aden International Airport early on Wednesday. One missile landed near the runway minutes before a flight from Cairo was due to land.
Authorities cancelled the Cairo flight’s landing and diverted the aircraft to Jeddah, and two planes on the runway were moved away from the area over fears of further strikes.
Coalition missile interceptions
The Saudi‑led coalition said it intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile north of Riyadh and another missile launched towards the southwestern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.
Houthi statements on other targets
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group had also targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with several drones, and had attacked Abha International Airport and an airbase in Khamis Mushait with ballistic missiles and drones.
Additional claims
The coalition said the missile threats originated from the Houthi‑controlled capital Sanaa and the governorates of Saada and Amran. Following the coalition’s statement, Houthi‑affiliated Al Masirah TV said Saudi forces carried out a strike in an area spanning the central governorates of Ibb and Taiz.
