Lufthansa German Airlines will restart a daily Tokyo‑Narita to Frankfurt service and add three weekly Nagoya‑Chubu to Frankfurt flights from the summer 2027 schedule, while Swiss International Air Lines will increase its Tokyo‑Narita to Zurich route to one daily roundtrip.

The Lufthansa Group, which also includes Austrian Airlines and ITA Airways, will serve four Japanese airports with a total of up to 50 roundtrips per week, all operated on Boeing 787‑9 aircraft in the Allegis cabin configuration.

Why it matters

The added capacity is intended to strengthen the group’s presence in the important Japanese market.
