On 2 October, Condor flight DE1518 from Hamburg to Gran Canaria departed with a two‑hour delay on an Airbus A320 registered LY‑MAU that carried Syrian Air livery.

The aircraft, originally delivered to Qatar Airways, was taken over by Heston Airlines in June 2025, leased to Syrian Air in July 2025 and then supplied by Heston as a wet‑lease replacement after Condor’s usual A320 (LY‑NRU) was damaged by a ground vehicle in Palma de Mallorca and left there.

Condor said the aircraft meets all regulatory safety and quality requirements and that operating aircraft with another airline’s branding is acceptable.
