From 10 November 2026 Ryanair will close its airport check‑in desks 60 minutes before scheduled departure, replacing the current 40‑minute cut‑off, while online check‑in will remain available until two hours before departure.

The airline will also start issuing digital boarding passes via the Ryanair app after online check‑in from 12 November 2025, and passengers who have not checked in online before reaching the airport may be charged a fee of €55 or £55 (about 600‑700 kr).

Ryanair says roughly 20 percent of its passengers check in baggage, the group most impacted by the new 60‑minute rule, while passengers without checked baggage are not affected.
