American Airlines opens applications for 2027 flight attendant trainee class

American Airlines has opened applications for its 2027 flight attendant trainee class and says the evaluation and hiring process will be more transparent, giving candidates a realistic picture of job demands. Candidates will be expected to work nights, weekends and holidays and spend their first two years on reserve.

Applicants who are selected must record and submit a short introduction video, then undergo remote and in‑person interviews and assessments before proceeding to seven weeks of training at the airline’s Robert L. Crandall Campus in Dallas/Fort Worth in 2027.
