Kenya confirms first imported Ebola case from Jambojet flight JM8523

Kenya confirmed its first imported Ebola case linked to Jambojet flight JM8523, which arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 1.10 pm, and the patient died on Monday night.

Jambojet is cooperating with the Ministry of Health and Port Health Services to trace passengers and crew, while the Ministry has identified 28 contacts and is pursuing 23 passengers; contacts will remain in isolation for up to 21 days, and the patient may have passed airport screening because medication masked symptoms before being taken directly to Nairobi Hospital.
