India defers shift of Mumbai international flights to Navi Mumbai airport

The civil aviation ministry asked Adani Airport Holdings to defer the planned transfer of more than a third of Mumbai airport's international departures from Terminal 2 to Navi Mumbai, a move that had been slated to start on 25 October.

MIAL had proposed temporarily withdrawing 265 of the 770 weekly international departure slots from Terminal 2, and had asked airlines to identify by 6 October the services they were willing to shift or discontinue; a MoCA‑led meeting with airlines and airport officials was scheduled for 13 October to discuss a transition plan and a fresh redevelopment roadmap for Terminal 1.

The government decision effectively puts the October 25 transition on hold while stakeholders develop an alternative roadmap.
