Houthis claim drone and missile attack on Riyadh airport and Rabigh refinery

The Houthi movement said it struck Riyadh International Airport and the Aramco refinery at Rabigh with drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, and warned airlines that Saudi airspace was unsafe except over Medina and Mecca.
Houthi claim of attack
The Yemeni Houthis said they hit Riyadh International Airport and the Aramco refinery at Rabigh using drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. The Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree made the claim.
The Houthis added that the offensive also targeted several military installations and airports in the south of the kingdom.
Airspace warning
The Houthis warned airlines that the airspace over Saudi Arabia was unsafe, except for the holy cities of Medina and Mecca.
Coalition response
The Saudi‑led coalition said it had struck military targets in Al‑Hodeida, a Red Sea port under Houthi control. Coalition spokesperson Turki Al‑Malki said naval forces destroyed weapons depots, ship‑hiding installations and mines, and thwarted a planned attack on southern Red Sea shipping lanes.
International deployments
Turkish and Pakistani forces were announced to be deployed to Saudi Arabia under a mutual defence pact.
Local reports and interception
Strong explosions were heard over Riyadh on Monday evening, reported by AFP journalists. Saudi Arabia intercepted a missile over Riyadh on Tuesday.
