President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confirmed that 32 people were killed when a Nigerian Air Force ATR‑42 crashed near a naval base in Igbokoda, Ondo state, at 09:13 local time (08:13 GMT).

The aircraft, registered NGR 931, was on a routine mission between Benin and Lagos and was carrying 25 passengers, and Tinubu ordered the Air Force to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident.
