- The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property approved a covered pedestrian trail in the air‑side zone of Podgorica Airport, to be built between two existing buildings. The 2.2‑metre‑wide walkway will be paved with concrete plates, fenced with a prefabricated fence and feature a steel roof with a thermal panel instead of glass. Additional lighting, grounding, gates and signage will guide passengers to passport and customs control and to baggage claim.
- The new structure aims to protect travelers from rain and sun while improving movement through the terminal, as the signage and gates are intended to streamline access to key processing points. The inclusion of lighting and a grounded roof enhances safety and usability of the passage.
Why it matters
The covered trail should facilitate smoother passenger flow and enhance comfort in the air‑side area, benefiting airport operations and traveler experience.
