- Stansted Airport has begun construction of a north terminal extension, removing the former passenger bus facility and link bridge to make way for the works.
- The three‑bay addition provides 16,500 square metres of new space, new passenger facilities and ‘Skylink’ walkways linking the terminal to satellite buildings, and is intended to increase capacity at the single‑runway airport to handle up to 51 million passengers a year over the next two decades, while the expansion is expected to double the airport’s economic impact to nearly £2.5 billion annually.
