- Hindalco Industries Ltd announced it has called off its proposed acquisition of US‑based AluChem Companies Inc., a deal valued at USD 125 million. The termination was attributed to extended closure delays that were beyond the control of either party. The acquisition had originally been announced in June of the previous year.
- Despite the cancellation, Hindalco said its strategy to expand its speciality alumina business remains unchanged and it still aims to scale up capacity to 1 million tonnes by fiscal year 2030. AluChem will continue operating independently and serving its customers.
