- Apple Pay has launched in India, initially allowing users to add eligible Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards to their iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches.
- The service stores a tokenised version of the debit or credit card on the device and enables contactless NFC payments abroad at merchants that accept such payments, provided international transactions are enabled on the card, and the transaction will be treated as an international card transaction subject to any foreign‑exchange or currency‑conversion fees applied by the issuer.
