The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved renaming Noida International Airport as Narendra Modi International Airport, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the facility on 28 March 2026.

First operations

The airport's first flight, an IndiGo aircraft from Lucknow, landed on 15 June 2026.
