USS Abraham Lincoln returns to San Diego after nearly a year at sea

The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln arrived back at San Diego on 8 October, ending a deployment that began with its departure from California in November 2025 to operate in Thailand.

During the deployment the ship was redirected to China before the U.S.–Israel campaign against Iran in late February, made a single port call in Thailand at the start of September, and was authorized by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to return so families could be welcomed.
