The Bissett Autonomous Aviation Park at SAIT will serve as a facility for training, testing and certification of remotely piloted and autonomous aircraft, funded by a $30 million gift from Calgary philanthropist David Bissett.

Six million dollars of the investment will support student awards for RPAS education and is part of SAIT’s $150 million Real Futures campaign; the institute, which has trained aviation professionals since 1928, will involve students in research projects, field testing and co‑op placements with industry partners, integrating training, applied research and industry engagement in a single ecosystem.
