Piper issues service bulletin for rudder cable inspection on select PA‑46 aircraft

Piper Aircraft released Service Bulletin 1462, a one‑time inspection of rudder control cables for selected PA‑46 series models, including the M350, M500, M600 and M700 Fury, effective October 1.

The bulletin targets 67 specific serial‑numbered aircraft and warns that improper cable routing can cause chafing or breakage, requiring inspection of the rudder controls inside the tailcone; owners of aircraft that have not yet completed their first annual inspection or reached 100 flight hours must comply within the next 25 flight hours, while factory participation for warranty‑covered aircraft is available for up to 180 days from the effective date and inspections must be arranged through a Piper‑approved service center.
