Mitsubishi Heavy Industries launches seventh Taigei‑class submarine Shougei

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries held the naming and launch ceremony for the 3000‑ton Taigei‑class submarine Shougei on 8 October, marking it as the seventh vessel of the class.

Shougei is scheduled to be handed over to Japan’s Ministry of Defense by the end of fiscal year 2027.
