ADAC Luftrettung expands Saxony operations from January 2027

ADAC Luftrettung will expand its air rescue operations in Saxony starting in January 2027, extending service hours to 19:00 and adding a rescue winch to the Christoph 46 helicopter based in Zwickau.

The service will use night‑vision equipment for flight preparation and deploy Airbus H145 helicopters at both Zwickau and Leipzig stations, with contracts for these stations renewed in May 2026 and set to run until 2045.
