Turkish Airlines launches 72‑person Search and Rescue team

Turkish Airlines (THY) created a 72‑member Search and Rescue team (MSAR) after receiving 1,210 volunteer applications, and introduced the unit in Istanbul with a project launch and flag‑handing ceremony attended by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and AFAD President Ali Hamza Pehlivan.

MSAR members successfully completed demanding drills and AFAD accreditation exams; the team comprises personnel from the cockpit, cabin, ground services and health units and is prepared to operate in both domestic and international disaster and emergency situations.
