Nigeria to deepen civil‑military aviation safety cooperation after Igbokoda crash

Nigeria’s Minister of Justice Festus Keyamo and Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke agreed to deepen collaboration between the Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on aviation safety, airworthiness, certification, training and capacity building after the minister paid a condolence visit following the tragic NAF aircraft incident at Igbokoda in Ondo State.

The two leaders announced a new framework that will establish a joint committee to facilitate cooperation in airworthiness, certification, training and other safety measures, noting that the NAF already relies on civil aviation infrastructure such as air traffic control and will be given access to relevant training opportunities undertaken by the civil aviation authorities.
