The GE Aerospace Foundation will invest $1 million in 2027 to support aerospace workforce training across Auburn and Montgomery, benefiting more than 400 people through three local partners.

The funding is part of the Lifting Futures flagship program, which targets training 10,000 aerospace workers by 2030, and includes a free bootcamp at Southern Union State Community College and Let’s Go Aerospace magazine subscriptions for public middle school libraries in Lee and Montgomery counties.

U.S. Representative Mike Rogers said the investment will boost Alabama’s workforce and help the state prepare for future growth in the aerospace sector.

Why it matters

The program aims to increase the pool of trained aerospace talent, supporting industry growth and regional workforce readiness.
