Turkey provides defensive support to Saudi Arabia as Houthis claim airport strikes

Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement in August and agreed to move immediately to implement collective defence commitments and ensure rapid deployment of military forces and capabilities in Saudi Arabia.

Turkey’s support to Saudi Arabia is being delivered as defensive and technical assistance, including military equipment, intelligence sharing, weapons systems, drone operators and fine‑tuning of defensive measures, with no other deployment reported and the joint pact not yet ratified by Turkey’s parliament.

The Houthis have claimed strikes on Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport and Saudi officials confirmed damage from Houthi attacks on airports at Jizan and Najran.
