Charles de Gaulle Airport announced a simplification of its terminal numbering, keeping Terminal 1’s name while renaming the current Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 and reorganising the existing terminals 2A‑2G into new terminals 3‑7, with boarding areas identified by single letters; some advance tickets have shown the new designations since 16 March 2026.

The change will involve installing more than 3,000 signs inside the terminals, 600 signs in parking lots and 250 road signs between September and December 2026, initially covered with stickers until their official unveiling, and coincides with the launch of the CDG Express scheduled for 28 March 2027; the measure follows passenger‑wayfinding difficulties reported in surveys, aiming to make movements within the airport “perfectly intuitive” for the over‑30 % of daily passengers who are connecting.
