- Alaska Airlines will begin operating Boeing 787‑9 aircraft on its Seattle to Tokyo/Nada service starting October 4, adding its first wide‑body to the route. The airline’s new aircraft will feature a livery inspired by the aurora and will carry 300 seats, including 34 business class suites, 79 premium class seats and 187 main cabin seats. Hawaiian Airlines currently operates a single daily flight on the same route with an Airbus A330‑200.
- The business class suites on the 787‑9 are Alaska’s first fully enclosed, fully flat seats and will be equipped with Filson bedding and amenity bags, while all cabin classes will have USB power, seat‑back monitors and in‑flight Wi‑Fi that is expected to be provided by Starlink by year‑end.
