Delta Flight 7’s Airbus A350-900 clipped the right horizontal stabilizer of Air Canada Flight 785’s Boeing 777-200LR while taxiing at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday morning.

No injuries were reported among the 275 passengers and 15 crew on the Delta flight or on the Air Canada aircraft, and both planes were taken out of service for inspection and repairs; the FAA opened an investigation and the NTSB was notified.

Delta’s flight, originally scheduled to depart for Tokyo Haneda at 6:08 PM, was delayed more than eight hours after the incident.
