Brindisi Airport sees passenger growth and completes runway refurbishment with remote

In September 2026 the Brindisi Airport handled 409,315 passengers, up 10.2 percent from the same month a year earlier, while international traffic rose 23 percent to 156,788 passengers; the wider Puglia airport network processed 1,298,551 passengers that month, an 11 percent increase over September 2025, and 9,895,019 passengers from January to September 2026, also up 11 percent year‑on‑year.

The airport also completed a runway refurbishment that received a Certificate of Test and ENAC approval, allowing immediate use for takeoff, landing and taxiing, and integrated runway lighting management for runways 13/31 and the new 5/23 with ENAV's Remote Tower, the first remote control prototype officially operating in Italy.
