- On 4 October 2026 Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Tú inspected the Long Thành International Airport project and its connecting roads in Đồng Nai province, where Phase 1 construction began in January 2021 after Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc approved the investment decision in November 2020.
- Following the inspection he noted that some contractors were slow, the remaining work volume was large and time was limited, and he demanded that construction be accelerated to operate 24 hours a day and that the Airport Authority submit a full progress report before 7 October 2026.
