- Facua-Consumidores en Acción advises travelers to wait before buying Volotea tickets because the airline has entered a preconcurso de acreedores, a phase before possible insolvency, and if a flight is cancelled Volotea must refund the ticket price even during this period; the airline has not cancelled any flights or suspended routes to date and the preconcurso can last up to four months under Spanish law.
- Volotea reports that directors' average salary rose more than 13% to €141,570 and board members' remuneration increased 23% to €280,933 in the last year, while the airline still owes €200 million to the SEPI rescue fund and faced a €150 million impact from higher fuel costs; it plans to reduce its fleet to about thirty aircraft and cut 50 jobs in its Barcelona offices, and the CEO says the airline continues to operate normally, adding routes and selling tickets.
