A Latitude Air Ambulance Gulfstream G100 vanished on 3 October 2026 while flying from Bermuda toward Boston.

Aircraft and occupants

The aircraft was a Gulfstream G100 (Astra SPX) operated by Latitude Air Ambulance, registration C‑GRJP. Six people were on board: two pilots, two medical staff, a patient and a family member. The flight departed Bermuda and was headed for Boston, with some reports specifying Logan International Airport and others citing Hanscom Field in Bedford.

Flight data showed the plane maintained about 24,000 feet for most of the flight before descending roughly 13,000 feet in about two minutes to near 11,000 feet, after which contact was lost. An ABC News source said the aircraft may have descended rapidly about 7,500 feet before impacting water, though this has not been confirmed.

Search operation

The U.S. Coast Guard launched an aerial and maritime search after the aircraft was last seen near Nantucket, Massachusetts. Assets deployed included patrol boats, helicopters, reconnaissance aircraft and the rapid response ship William Sparling, operating about 13 nautical miles off Nantucket.

The Massachusetts Port Authority confirmed the Gulfstream did not arrive at Logan International Airport at the scheduled time.

Official statements

Latitude Air Ambulance confirmed the aircraft carried no hazardous materials. Its Director of Operations, Clarence Togeretz, said the flight was a medical transport from Gran Bermuda to Boston.

Canadian Minister of Transport Steve MacKinnon expressed condolences to the passengers, families, loved ones and colleagues on 3 October 2026.

What's still unclear

Sources differ on the intended Boston‑area destination: laarena.com.ar reports Hanscom Field in Bedford, while lasillarota.com and eluniversal.com.co cite Logan International Airport.
