Embraer and Mahindra eye Nagpur for C-390 Millennium final assembly line

  • Embraer and Mahindra have identified Nagpur, Maharashtra, as a potential location for a final assembly line for the C-390 Millennium aircraft in India, pending the aircraft’s selection by the Indian government for the Air Force’s medium transport aircraft program and a subsequent order. The Indian Ministry of Defence launched a tender on August 12 to acquire 60 multi‑role transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force, a program valued at around 1,000 billion rupees.
  • If the project proceeds, Embraer will transfer its aircraft assembly, system integration and production technology expertise to India while establishing a local supply chain, linking Indian manufacturers with global partners such as GE Aerospace, Boeing and Collins Aerospace.
