Melbourne Airport Rail project moves to next stage with new Keilor East line

Work on the next stage of the Melbourne Airport Rail project is set to begin, adding a 7.4‑kilometre rail line between Albion and Keilor East and a new station at Keilor East that will include a bus interchange and car park.

The Keilor East station is expected to serve about 5,200 passengers daily, with major construction slated to start in 2028 and the line projected to open in 2031, enhancing ground transport connectivity to Melbourne Airport.
