FlyDubai copilot Hammam Al‑Hammami attempted to seize a FlyDubai aircraft with the aim of a suicide attack on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, a plan described by the Emirati Public Prosecutor’s Office as a premeditated terrorist act and classified by the Israeli government as a jihadist attack attempt.
During the flight Al‑Hammami stabbed the aircraft commander but was restrained by passengers and crew, and the aircraft performed a safe emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
