An AI‑generated video posted on X claims Israel staged the attempted attack on a FlyDubai aircraft on 30 September to aid Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s campaign, showing a co‑pilot attacking the pilot with an axe and a director saying “five minutes pause”. The clip, which has been viewed by more than one million X users, is alleged to originate from Iran. Western media describe the incident as a drama aboard a FlyDubai plane with 174 people, involving an Omani co‑pilot who may have intended to steer the aircraft into Tel Aviv’s Ben‑Gurion Airport terminal.
