World Postal Association reports 10% drop in shipment volume and revenue decline
The Universal Postal Union says average shipment volume on a typical international postal route has fallen by ten percent and inflation‑adjusted revenues of postal companies dropped from 606 billion USD in 2021 to 563.4 billion USD in 2024.
The UPU also calls for better international coordination and notes that Switzerland remains first in its development index for the tenth consecutive year, while the United States plans to abolish its duty‑free threshold in August 2025.
