Air India and its low‑cost arm Air India Express halted all services to and from Riyadh until 10 October 2026, after flight AI2243 from Delhi returned to its origin following heightened safety concerns in Saudi airspace.

The decision came after the Houthis claimed a new ballistic‑missile attack on King Khalid International Airport and after Saudi‑led forces reported intercepting missiles aimed at Riyadh and Khamis Mushait, with attacks on Abha and Riyadh airports killing three people and injuring 36.
