Gevo delivered 10,000 carbon dioxide removal credits to a corporate buyer through ClimeFi, with the credits generated at its North Dakota facility where biogenic CO2 from ethanol production is captured and stored geologically.

The North Dakota plant has stored CO2 more than a mile beneath the site, offering permanence exceeding 1,000 years without the use of a pipeline, and has generated over 700,000 tons of carbon dioxide removal since operations began, making it one of the first commercial‑scale U.S. BECCS projects to provide verified credits to the voluntary market.
