Heavy rain forces brief closure of El Dorado International Airport
On 5 October strong rains in Medellín caused tree falls and evacuations, and El Dorado International Airport was closed for at least 20 minutes due to heavy rain and hail.
In Copacabana more than 20 emergencies were reported as rainfall reached 53 mm and 52 lightning strikes were recorded, while Bogotá saw 51 mm of rain in under three hours and 2,634 lightning strikes on the same day.
