Stuttgart Airport flight operations halted for ~1.5 h after bomb threat claim

Flight operations at Stuttgart Airport were suspended between 16:30 and 18:00 on 5 October 2026 due to a police operation after a 24‑year‑old passenger claimed a bomb in his luggage.
The interruption affected almost thirty flights and about three thousand passengers; nine flights were cancelled, nine were diverted mainly to Nürnberg and Karlsruhe/Baden‑Baden, and eleven flights were delayed up to three hours. Terminals were cleared in the early evening, arrivals and departures were suspended, and all passengers later had to undergo a second security check.
After the area was searched and no danger was found, flight operations were resumed gradually and passenger controls were reopened, though normalization may take several hours.
