HDBank overtakes LPBank in market cap as Vietjet holds 41% of Vietnam's fleet

On 2 October 2026 HDBank’s market capitalization rose to roughly 142,000 billion VND, moving it ahead of LPBank in the top three banks by value.

The bank’s market cap had been about 120,000 billion VND at the end of June 2026 after LPBank’s peak of nearly 167,300 billion VND, while Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, who holds 3.39% of HDBank’s issued capital, chairs Vietjet’s board and the airline operates 107 aircraft – about 41.5% of Vietnam’s 258 registered planes.
